Open Border Math

Out of the Arizona Republic comes this analysis of illegal alien crime statistics.
No one knows the size of the undocumented-immigrant population in Arizona, and the distinctions between immigrants and illegal immigrants, particularly of Mexican origin, are blurred in many counts.

[ ... ]

But they suggest that neither Mexican nationals nor undocumented immigrants are over-represented in felony prosecutions or incarcerated disproportionately.
In other words, nobody knows how many foreign nationals are in Arizona and nobody knows how many are illegal aliens, therefore it's concluded that, within the unknown population of illegal aliens, crimes are committed at a rate that is proportional to the entire population.

Huh?

I'd suggest that one statistic is known regarding crime by illegal aliens. Since all of them entered the United States illegally, 100 percent have committed crimes. On second thought, here's another stat. If the border were secure, the number of illegal aliens committing crimes in the U.S. would trend toward zero.
