Teacher Allegedly Inappropriate with Student

(Milford, Connecticut) A 22-year-old former substitute teacher at Law High School, Tara Johnson, was arrested yesterday for allegedly engaging in an inappropriate relationship with an 18-year-old student. Johnson turned herself in to the police after learning that a warrant was issued for her arrest.
The arrest followed an investigation that began Dec. 20 when Law administrators told police about the relationship.

Police found that Johnson and the student met each other in a parking lot at 54 Darina Place off school property where the alleged crime took place.

Law High School parents and PTA officials contacted Friday praised the arrest, noting Johnson had never been a student there.

"We heard the investigation was ongoing," said Robert White, PTA Council Executive Committee president and parent of a Law student. "Even though they're both adults, they should know this kind of student-teacher relationship is inappropriate."
Johnson was booked and released on $10,000 bond. A court appearance is scheduled for June 12th.
