(Flushing, Michigan) A 44-year-old Flushing Middle School teacher, Anne Marie Harvey, has been accused of bugging another teacher's classroom. She faces a charge of attempted eavesdropping.
FoxNews:
Prosecutors have charged a middle school science teacher with bugging a colleague's classroom. Police accuse Anne Marie Harvey, 44, of planting a wireless listening device on the back of a chair after her daughter complained about problems she was having with another teacher at Flushing Middle School. Police said the bugged teacher found the device and reported it May 18.I remember complaining to my father about one of my teachers in high school and he said, "Tough shinola, Tarzan. Deal with it." I don't think electronic eavesdropping was even considered.
Harvey was charged this week with attempted eavesdropping, a misdemeanor with a penalty of up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. Her arraignment was scheduled for June 25 in Flushing, about 60 miles northwest of Detroit.
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said the case is unusual and the charge is appropriate.
