(Longview, Washington) In November 2006, 35-year-old former teacher's aide at Hudson Park Elementary School in Rainier, Christine Marie Johanson, was indicted by a grand jury on counts of rape, sodomy, sexual abuse and furnishing liquor to a minor. All charges resulted from an alleged months-long sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy. Ultimately, Johanson faced charges in both Washington and Oregon and was under investigation by the FBI. In the latest development, Johanson pleaded guilty to one count of rape in Cowlitz County, Washington, in accordance with an Alford plea on July 11th. Her plea was entered just before the scheduled start date for her trial. A sentencing date of August 29th has been scheduled.
Regarding the charges she faces in Columbia County, Oregon, Johanson has a court appearance scheduled for August 31st at which time she is expected to plead guilty to reduced charges in accordance with an agreement.
