ACLU Seeks Secret Court Records

Presumably to protect the privacy rights of the enemies of the United States, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has requested that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) release a series of pivotal orders issued earlier this year about the National Security Agency's wiretapping program.

The chief judge of FISA, supposedly a secret intelligence court, forwarded the ACLU's request to the White House for comment. The FISA wants a response by August 31st.

There's a general consensus that the ACLU will be told to stuff it. Nonetheless, the mere fact that the ACLU even asked for secret national security documents indicates, in the least, a casual attitude towards the defense of the United States. Logically, one could even suggest that the ACLU is often a de facto functionary for the enemies of America.
