Adopt-An-Illegal-Alien Program

The Latin American International Coalition in New Jersey has launched an "Adopt Me" program for illegal aliens to be taken under the care of U.S. citizens for protection against immigration officials and unscrupulous employers.

Coalition activists said the adoption program is "a way to face anti-immigrant raids ordered by the White House" and it will provide advice to illegals about their rights in case they are arrested.

Is it just me or does anyone else have the words "aiding and abetting" coming to mind? And since when is the White House ordering raids? Bush might be telling HomelandSecSec Chertoff to pretend like he's enforcing the law, but I seriously doubt the Prez is giving tactical orders.

On a different note, the illegal alien adoption scheme is not a fresh idea. It replicates the ACLU's de facto adopt all terrorists program which helps homicidal jihadis when they are captured.
