Brits Accused of Racial Abuse of Scots

Apparently, some British talking-heads called the entire Scottish population a bunch of "subsidy junkies." In response, columnist Elaine Smith cried foul in The Sunday Mail, claiming the Scots are being subjected to racist abuse and arguing that Scots actually contribute more to UK coffers than the Brits.

Now, I really don't care much about this apparent name-calling controversy but I'm stunned that someone believes the Brits and Scots are different races. What in the world are the kids being taught in UK schools?
