Man Arrested in Schoolgirl Upskirt Case

(Scottsdale, Arizona) A food-service worker at Saguaro High School, Ricardo Espinoza-Valdez, was charged yesterday in Scottsdale City Court with three counts of suspicion of disorderly conduct. Espinoza-Valdez, a Mexican with an expired green card, allegedly admitted to taking upskirt photos of female students.

According to police spokesman Sgt. Mark Clark:
A student alerted Saguaro school officials Monday that she thought she saw Espinoza-Valdez place a camera that was sitting in a box inches away from another female student's skirt, Clark said.

On Tuesday, the Saguaro principal and vice principal, responding to the initial complaint, watched the suspect engage in the same activity with another female student, Clark said.

The school officials confronted him, seized the camera and notified the school resource officer, who began investigating the incident, Clark said, adding that the suspect was detained at the school and interviewed by sex-crimes detectives.
Espinoza-Valdez worked through a temporary-worker contract agency, Executemps Southwest Inc. of Phoenix. Executemps representative, Jeff Thomas, stated that appropriate background checks and fingerprinting were performed on Espinoza-Valdez, however, "Immigration status won't necessarily show up in a background check."

That's odd. Let me guess. The background check was performed by Paco's Speedy Papers & Badges of Tijuana?

Espinoza-Valdez was booked into custody at the Maricopa County Jail on $1 million bail.
