South Dakota Woman Guilty of Sex with Boy

(Rapid City, South Dakota) A 47-year-old local woman, Michelle Alexander, pleaded guilty on Thursday to having sexual contact with a 15-year-old boy.

Alexander was originally charged with fourth-degree rape in addition to the sexual contact charge for mixing it up with the boy between January and August 2006.

Per a plea agreement with the prosecution, the rape charge was dropped in exchange for Alexander's guilty plea. Notably, the deal was struck on the morning of the day that Alexander was to be tried.

The maximum penalty for engaging in sexual contact with a 15-year-old is 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.

Sentencing by Seventh Circuit Judge A.P. "Pete" Fuller is tentatively scheduled for January 7th, contingent upon the completion of a sex-offender evaluation.
