(Belgrade, Serbia) The only carmaker in Serbia, Zastava, produced 15,000 Yugos last year which is much less than the designed production capacity of 60,000 Yugos a year. Consequently, the company is looking for a buyer.
In an advertisement published in the Politika daily, Serbia's Privatization Agency said nearly 90 percent of the company's shares will be sold in April.Venture capitalists with a few extra farthings may want to consider investing in the Yugo. Already, two major international companies (not named) have expressed interest.
