South Carolina Woman Jailed for Child Neglect

(Conway, South Carolina) A 35-year-old Myrtle Beach woman, Patricia Collins Eudy, was arrested for allegedly harming and neglecting her five children.

The children have been placed in the custody of the Department of Social Services with one, a 5-year-old daughter, hospitalized with serious injuries.
Eudy, 35, is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill, unlawful neglect of a child or helpless person by legal guardian and inflicting great bodily harm on a child, according to court records. She is being held without bail at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

Her boyfriend, Aubrey Johnson, 26, is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, unlawful neglect of a child by legal custodian and inflicting great bodily harm on a child, according to jail records. He is being held in lieu of $125,000 bail at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

The arrest warrant said Eudy admitted causing "violent injury" to the girl without "adequate cause or provocation" and that Johnson was present when the acts were committed.
A hearing on child custody is scheduled for February 7. Several family members have expressed interest in gaining custody.
