(University of Miami) A new study by University of Miami researchers Wang and Sang-Ki Lee says that global warming causes the oceans to produce fewer and weaker hurricanes. The study is published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters.
Some previous studies found that global warming was increasing the number and intensity of hurricanes, a conclusion that supported the conventional wisdom that warmer seas automatically turbocharge hurricane development. Therefore, scientific data have been gathered to support the contention that global warming causes more frequent and stronger hurricanes while also supporting the contention that there will be fewer and weaker hurricanes.
I hope this clears up any confusion people may have regarding global warming. Obviously, it's the eco-political trump card, playable at any time for any purpose.
