(Moscow, Russia) What a shock! The Russians, having just fell off the turnip truck, are suspicious of Iran's intentions after a suborbital rocket, called the Kavoshgar I, was successfully launched from the Islamic Republic's first space base.
One of these days, it's going to dawn on the Russians that they are infidels too.Russia said on Wednesday that Iran's test launch of a rocket raised "suspicion" about the real nature of Teheran's nuclear programme, Interfax news agency quoted a Foreign Ministry official as saying.
Iran launched a rocket on Monday designed to carry its first locally-made research satellite next year, showing the country’s advances in ballistics at a time when Western powers are already jittery about its nuclear plans.
"Any movement in terms of creating such a potential weapon naturally worries us and others. All the more so since it creates suspicion towards Iran about its possible desire to create a nuclear weapon," Interfax quoted Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Losyukov as saying.
"Rockets of such range are one of the components of such a weapons system. Of course this raises concern," he said.
