Minimum Wage Tied to Worker's Age

Call it a creative bit of social engineering. The British minimum pay formula mandates that younger workers be paid less than older workers.

Now, it seems to me that employers would be encouraged to hire the young and fire the old. It's minimum wage work, for cryin' out loud, and anybody can do it. Why pay more if you don't have to?
