Children's Sack Races Too Risky

(County Durham, England) Some true utopians in Britain have concluded that schoolchildren participating in sack races and three-legged races are at risk of falling over. As a result, there will be no races.
Hundreds of children were due to compete in the events at an Edwardian-themed sports day on Monday but the races were dropped amid fears a child would fall over and be hurt.

The decision has been criticised as "completely over the top".

Teachers at John F Kennedy Primary in Washington, Tyne and Wear, dropped the traditional races after discussions with staff from Beamish Open Air Museum, where the sports day will be staged.

Children taking part are to dress in period costume and play old-fashioned games as part of the school's centenary celebrations.
According to educator Simon Woolley, the children will be hopping and running instead of three-legged and sack racing because there is less a chance of falling over.

I'm not surprised by the ban. Previously, we've had reports of schools banning dodgeball and playing tag in the schoolyard. All the while, the same utopians try to figure out why kids are putting on weight. Instead of encouraging more activity, though, the utopian solution is to force-feed unappetizing "healthy food" to children for lunches and snacks.
