Teacher Accused of Providing Booze to Minors
(Ware Shoals, South Carolina) A 26-year-old substitute teacher with the Greenwood County School District 51, Jessica Brownlee Swain, was arrested by Ware Shoals Police officers after allegedly hosting an alcohol party at her home for underage individuals.
After responding to an anonymous call regarding possible underage drinking, police officers found a 17-year-old female and Swain and both were suspected of having consumed alcohol. The 17-year-old told the officers that Swain had given her peach schnapps and that others had attended the party but they hid in the woods when police arrived.
The 17-year-old was arrested and ticketed with underage consumption. She was released to her parents. Swain was arrested and charged with transfer of beer/wine to a minor.
Swain was booked into custody at the Abbeville County Detention Center.
