As of 3:30 PM ET, Hurricane Gustav is inland and has been downgraded to a Category 1. It's dumping loads of rain on Louisiana with the center located about 90 miles west of New Orleans.
The city of Lafayette is without power as the eye of Gustav approaches. Flooding is a primary concern throughout the region.
As of 11 AM, Grand Isle, Louisiana, had received 14 inches of rain and it's still coming down. Authorities continue to monitor the New Orleans-area levees. So far, the levees are holding but being over-topped in places.
Meanwhile, Category 1 Hurricane Hanna brought fierce winds and waves the the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands. It is currently tracking toward the Florida coast but is anticipated to veer north and become a threat to Georgia and the Carolinas. Nothing is certain, however.
