Colorado Woman Accused of Burning Dog

Free Image hosting by ImageSnap(Lakewood, Colorado) A 38-year-old Lakewood woman, Tanya Martin, was arrested for allegedly burning her dog Bobo by placing it on a burning telephone book on a lit burner on her stove.

A neighbor alerted the authorities when the dog was heard yelping.
"My initial thought was that the dog was gonna die. The burns looked pretty bad", said West Metro Firefighter Mark Warriner.

When Warriner arrived to a structure fire call at this Lakewood apartment he and his crew, put out a phone book burning on a stove.

"It just wasn't a good thing", said Warriner.

Soon after, police on scene telling him that the dog's owner Tanya Martin, lit the fire, bound Bobo's legs and put the dog on the burning book on the stove.
Bobo sustained burns over half his body and is now recovering at an animal hospital.

Tanya Martin was booked into custody. She faces charges of arson and animal abuse.
