McCain Endorsement Riles Newspaper's Readers

(Napa, California) More than 100 demonstrators gathered outside the offices of the Napa Valley Register this week to protest rally an editorial in last Sunday's newspaper which endorsed John McCain for President.

Led by Democrat Party organizers who made it clear it was a rally and not a protest, the demonstrators shouted that the Register doesn't represent the voters of Napa County, that the newspaper's editorial page is biased and that it is out of touch. Yeah, it was a rally. But as soon as they were fired up, they started to protest.

It's not clear whether the demonstrators wanted the Register's editorial board to do something different, like coming up with a new opinion, or if they were just letting off steam. The demonstrators did, however, attack the publisher, Brenda Speth, for making the final decision on the editorial.

This all seems silly to me. If they don't like what the newspaper contains, they shouldn't read it.
