(Lenawee County, Michigan) A 31-year-old married woman, Jennifer Rae Merriman, faces trial this week for allegedly engaging in sex with an underage teen boy.
Merriman has been charged with five counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct for having sex or oral sex with a boy who is 13, 14, or 15 years old.
The alleged crimes happened from January to May 2007 in Woodstock Township in the northwest corner of Lenawee County, police and prosecutors allege.If convicted, Merriman faces a possible 15 years in prison.
She was arrested in March and the case was to go to trial Wednesday.
It is unclear what relationship Merriman has or had to the boy or under what circumstances the alleged assaults occurred. A friend of the victim's family said she was the boy's baby sitter.
