Obama For America general counsel Bob Bauer has sent a letter to Attorney General Michael Mukasey asking for a Special Prosecutor to investigate John McCain, Sarah Palin and other Republicans for "fomenting specious vote fraud allegations." Bauer claims that Republicans nationwide are colluding to make fraud allegations against ACORN.

Apparently, Bauer considers widespread reports of voter fraud allegedly perpetrated by ACORN to be baseless and anyone calling for an investigation deserves to be investigated.

This tactic is similar to what was done to Joe the Plumber. Joe asked Obama a question and Obama accidentally told the truth, indicating his socialist leanings. To sidetrack any emphasis being placed on Obama's answer to Joe's question, Democrat operatives immediately started investigating Joe. Within 24 hours, Joe the Plumber had his life's history picked over. All that for asking a question.

Now, an Obama functionary is going after key Republicans merely because they asked for an investigation of ACORN after the organization was linked to alleged voting irregularities in several states.
