(Calais, France) Encampments of Afghan illegal immigrants on the French coast are being rousted by authorities and deported back to Afghanistan on flights paid for by British taxpayers.
Reportedly, having the Brits pay for the removal of the illegal Afghans from France is justified because they were headed to Britain when they were rounded up.
The bill for the flights is likely to be in the millions. Not all Brits are amused.
Mark Wallace, campaign director of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said: 'It is ridiculous that the Government is being so free and easy with British taxpayers' money. As expected, human rights and refugee advocates are opposed to the deportation scheme, despite who pays.
'We have a big enough illegal immigrant problem inside Britain's borders without paying to solve those of the French as well.'
