Child Caseworker Gets No Jail for Sex with Boy

(Leominster, Massachusetts) In March 2008, a married, 24-year-old child welfare caseworker for the Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps, Lindsay Rogowski, was arrested for statutory rape and unnatural acts with a child under the age of 16.
According to court documents, Leominster police received information early in March that Mrs. Rogowski was having sexual relations with a boy who lives in Leominster. Social workers and a representative from the district attorney’s office interviewed the boy, who confirmed sexual conduct with Mrs. Rogowski.

Mrs. Rogowski was taken to the Leominster Police Department to speak with investigators. She confirmed to police that she had at least 15 incidents of sexual intercourse with the boy and five incidents of oral sex with him.
Last Thursday, Rogowski pleaded guilty in Leominster District Court to a reduced charge of inducing a chaste minor into sexual intercourse. Judge John J. Curran Jr. then sentenced Rogowski to two years of probation. She was also ordered to have no contact with the victim, no unsupervised contact with unrelated minors and no job involving minors under the age of 16. She must also undergo counseling.

In summary, a child social worker has sex with a child being counseled and walks away from court with no jail. No information regarding registration as a sex offender was disclosed.
