School Custodian Accused of Sex with Male Student

(Taft, California) A 36-year-old female custodian at Taft High School, Kristy Stubblefield, was arrested Thursday for allegedly engaging in sex with a male student. Stubblefield faces felony charges of unlawful sexual intercourse and oral copulation.

Taft Union High School District superintendent and principal Mark Richardson said his staff alerted police and placed Stubblefield on administrative leave as soon as they learned of the allegations on Dec. 2.

"The entire staff believes they hold the public's trust, and they're not going to tolerate anybody whose conduct violates that trust," Richardson said. "We're going to do everything in our power to keep that trust and keep our students safe."

Stubblefield was booked into custody with bail set at $22,500.
