Eight Beheaded for "Honor"

(Bhagalpur, India) Last month, a 21-year-old Indian man, Ratan Mandal, eloped with a woman from a higher caste, Kanchan Kumari, 18.

Subsequently, the Kumari family invited eight members of the Mandal family for a sit-down to discuss a dispute. The Kumari family then killed all eight Mandals, beheaded them, and threw their remains into the Ganges River.

Police were alerted when they saw the bodies floating by. As a result, 15 people have been arrested, mostly from the Kumari family.

Some honor, eh?
