Nuke Subs Collide in Mid-Atlantic

Two nuclear missile submarines, one British and one French, collided in the mid-Atlantic Ocean while submerged on patrol. The collision is believed to have occurred on February 3rd or 4th.

The Royal Navy’s HMS Vanguard was towed into the submarine base at Faslane, Scotland, arriving last night. Dents and scrapes on the hull were visible.

The French Navy’s Le Triomphant steamed slowly into port at Brest, France. Extensive damage to the boat's sonar dome was noticeable.
