NY Teacher Guilty of Felony DWI

(Rochester, New York) A 32-year-old teacher formerly at Victor Primary School, Jennifer Ortman, was convicted by a jury last Friday of felony driving while impaired.

Ortman was found guilty of leaving the scene of an accident and criminal mischief along with driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Ortman was charged the morning of June 5 last year. She resigned from the district, where she taught music, immediately following her arrest. [...]

At the trial, a parent testified to seeing Ortman hit two cars as she tried to park at the school and stagger into the building with extremely poor balance, Ontario County District Attorney R. Michael Tantillo said.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 5 before Ontario County Court Judge Craig Doran.
