CAIR Complains About Radio Broadcast

(San Francisco, California) The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has formally complained to the management of KSFO 560-AM radio regarding the content of a morning comedy segment by hosts Brian Sussman and his radio sidekick "Officer Vic." Via a letter, CAIR called for the radio personalities to be reprimanded.

The pair, during the Monday program, did a comedic segment about Islam and its tenets, and joked that "Islamic finance is about living within your means and helping the needy -- unless they're Jews," the blog reported.

Additionally, they observed that "the great honorable qualities of that good old time religion: honor killings, female circumcision, not allowing women to drive ... Jews are monkeys, pigs.''

Ibrahim Hooper of CAIR said that the Muslim religion was being smeared by KSFO and called for consumers to boycott advertisers. Hooper also said that Islam is being mischaracterized.

"So-called 'honor killings,' female genital mutilation and not allowing women to drive are not part of Islam," he said. "Muslims respect Jews and Christians as 'people of the book' who received earlier revelations from God."

So, CAIR is upset because people are lying about Islam, prompting complaints being sent to the radio station. However, it's not the first time CAIR has had complaints about KSFO. In the end, though, KSFO is still broadcasting, indicating that the complaints have apparently had little effect.

Station management hasn't yet responded to CAIR's latest complaint.
