(Islamabad, Pakistan) Regarding the girl who was flogged by a Taliban cleric, and seen on videotape worldwide, for being seen with a man who was not her husband, Attorney General Latif Khosa presented to the Supreme Court the girl's reported written statement, "The girl has denied the alleged flogging incident.”
Instead, according to Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry,
“Possibility cannot be ruled out that a fake TV material or a video had been prepared with an ulterior motive to malign people of Swat."The girl was not present during the Supreme Court inquiry.
So, readers can choose to believe that the videotape was a fake. Who to believe? Government officials or your own lying eyes? Move along now.
