Missouri Teacher Fails to Register as Sex Offender - Updated
[Previous 12/16/10 post bumped]
(Springfield, Missouri) Former Greenfield High School teacher Alison Peck, 25, has been formally charged with failing to register as a sex offender.
Greene County investigators say Peck last registered as a sex offender on July 28. They say she did not re-register as required in October.

After deputies started searching for Peck, she eventually surrendered on December 10.

Detectives say Peck also failed to report that she terminated her employment at Ruby Tuesday’s. According to court documents Peck told a detective she had recently been performing in a band and the new assignment had taken up a lot of her time and caused her to forget to report her change in employment.

If Peck’s probation is revoked, she could be required to go to prison for five years.
Peck had better start following the court's instructions.

Missouri Teacher Gets Probation for Rape of Boy, 16 - Updated
[Previous 12/1/09 post]
(Springfield, Missouri) Former teacher at Greenfield High School Alison Peck pleaded guilty yesterday in Greene County Circuit Court to statutory rape of a 16-year-old male student.

As a result, Peck was sentenced to probation for five years. A five-year prison sentence was suspended.
As part of her probation, Greene County Circuit Judge Calvin Holden ordered Peck to complete a sexual offender treatment program and to register as a sexual offender. He also ordered Peck to have no contact with the student.

Peck lived in Mount Vernon, in Lawrence County, and the student lived in Dade County. The student told investigators that some of his sexual contact with Peck was at her home and some of it was at in a secluded rural place near Fiddler's Ford in Dade County. The student told detectives that the affair started with text messages during the last Christmas break and progressed from there.

The charge in Greene County resulted from a meeting that Peck had at a hotel in Springfield with the student in May after she was charged and posted bond in Dade County, and was about to be charged in Lawrence County.
Unfortunately, Peck has additional troubles. In Dade County, she faces two counts of statutory rape and, in Lawrence County, statutory rape and statutory sodomy.
