(Springfield, Illinois) Earlier this month, a local couple, Ronnie and Joanna Prieto, 38 and 35 respectively, were arrested for alleged sexual assault of two pre-teen girls. According to Assistant State Attorney Amy Wolff, the alleged sexual assaults occurred between 2004 and the present.
This week, Mr. and Mrs. Prieto were indicted by a Sangamon County grand jury and arraigned.
Ronnie Prieto on 15 counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault and conspiracy to commit predatory criminal sexual assault; and his wife on 11 counts of conspiracy to commit predatory criminal sexual assault and endangering the life or health of a child.A trial status hearing is scheduled for next month.
