(Malmö, Sweden) Topless bathing has been made legal at public swimming pools in the city of Malmö. The issue was taken up by city lawmakers after a group of feminists started showing off their breasts at public swimming pools.
Rather than address the specific concern, the lawmakers decided to rule that "everybody should wear bathing suits." Therefore, women only have to wear the bottom part of a bikini to meet the requirement.
According to a city council spokesman:
“We don’t define what bathing suits men should wear so it doesn’t make much sense to do it for women.A feminist leader remarked that the issue is about equality and the problem is that women are sexualized when appearing topless in public. Apparently, the mere fact that a physical attraction exists between men and women is problematic to feminists.
And besides, it’s not unusual for men to have large breasts that resemble women’s breasts.”
In my opinion, physical attractiveness is more a fact of life than a problem.
