Tennessee Teacher Arrested on Drug Charges

(Nashville, Tennessee) A 28-year-old teacher at A.Z. Kelley Elementary School, Jayna Binion, was arrested on Wednesday for alleged drug possession.

Binion faces charges of possession of marijuana and evidence tampering.
Police were looking for Binion’s boyfriend, Rahman Pugh, who was wanted on outstanding drug warrants. They spotted him near Binion’s home, and as they arrested him, they noticed that he smelled of marijuana.

Officers went to the Ruddell Lane residence and smelled a strong marijuana odor coming from an open window. They knocked repeatedly on the door, but it took Binion several minutes to respond.

When they searched the residence, officers found empty glass jars containing marijuana residue. Processed marijuana was found floating in an upstairs toilet bowl.
Binion admitted to investigators that she flushed the marijuana. She was booked into custody with bond set at $3,500.
