Central California Wildfire Started by Pot Growers

(Santa Barbara County, California) According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department, the massive wildfire in the Los Padres National Forest was started a week ago by a campfire set by Mexican nationals involved in a marijuana production and distribution operation.
The fire has charred nearly 131 square miles and is threatening more than 230 homes. It is about 25 percent contained.
Fires are also raging in northern California counties of Santa Cruz, Yuba, Alameda and Trinity. The cause of the wildfire in Trinity County is believed to be a tossed cigarette butt. Investigations are in process in the other counties.
