Female Accused of Child Sex Offenses and Assaulting Officer

(Harrington, Delaware) A 23-year-old Felton woman, Erin R. Boone, was arrested yesterday for allegedly engaging in sex with a 14-year-old boy and assaulting an officer.

Boone's troubles started when she confronted an officer with a 4-inch butterfly knife when he responded to a disorderly complaint.

Police say Boone told the officer that she was not going to be arrested and was continued to hold the knife "in an aggressive manner." According to police, the officer was able to get the knife away from Boone after a brief struggle and eventually took her into custody.

Investigators say the officer also located 18 Xanax pills on Boone, which are a Schedule IV Narcotic.

While Boone was in the officer's patrol vehicle, police say she kicked out the rear passenger side window. Police say Boone continued to kick through the window, and struck the officer, resulting in injuries to his hand and arm. The officer did not need medical treatment.

Police say that while the officer was talking to the person who reported the incident, he learned that Boone was caught having sex with a 14-year-old boy during the early part of August.

Boone faces charges of possession of a deadly weapon, rape, assault of a peace officer, aggravated manacing, endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.

Boone was booked into custody at the Sussex County Correctional Institute with bond set at $19,000.
