(Cleveland, Ohio) A 30-year-old special needs teacher at the Virtual School House charter school, Naomi Wright, has been indicted on charges stemming from alleged sexual relations with a 17-year-old student. Wright faces 12 counts of sexual battery and four counts of corrupting another with drugs.
According to prosecution spokesman Ryan Miday:
"Wright knew the victim had an interest in music and became close with the victim as she did the music programs at the school," Miday said. "The victim was bringing all his work to her room and he was doing better in school. The victim's mother came to trust Wright and the victim and another student would go to Wright's home to record music, around the latter part of 2008."Reportedly, the drug charge involved marijuana.
Miday said eventually the victim's mother allowed the boy to sleep at Wright's home during the week and during that time they developed a sexual relationship.
