Ohio Woman Creates Fake MySpace Scheme

(Amherst Township, Ohio) A 20-year-old local woman, Megan Spurlock, was arrested this week for identity fraud, obstructing official business and falsification.

Specifically, Spurlock created a MySpace account in another woman's name, Meaghan Deal, and used it to send threatening messages in an attempt to get Deal in trouble.
Deputies said the MySpace message, which Spurlock said was sent from Deal, was actually e-mailed from a computer belonging to Spurlock.

When she was confronted about the message, Spurlock told deputies a friend had created the account in an attempt to get Deal into trouble.
Spurlock has a court appearance scheduled for January 12.
