(Wyalusing, Pennsylvania) A 35-year-old softball coach for the Bradford County Blizzards, Crystal Michelle Helms, has been accused of engaging in sexual communications with a 14-year-old girl she coached.
Helms has been charged with felony unlawful contact with a minor and misdemeanor corruption of a minor.
The charge was filed after Helms had numerous conversations with a minor female, some of which were sexual in nature, police said. The conversations took place by cell phone, cell phone texting and Internet chat on computers, between Feb. 1 and March 31, state police said.Helms was booked into the Bradford County Jail with bail set at $10,000.
The victim told state police that they discussed engaging in sexual activity and that they would have to wait until the victim was 18 years old, police said.
Both Helms and the victim denied that they ever had physical contact with each other, according to the state police.
