Mom Gets Nightime Jail in Sex Case - Updated

(Louisville, Kentucky) For sexual relations with seven teenage boys, 39-year-old Mary Dennis was sentenced today in accordance with the plea agreement.

According to defense attorney Brian Butler,

"The agreement was that she would have 4 years probated, and then 3 years executed, which under Indiana law means that she will serve between a year and a year and a half in the Clark County jail and she'll have work release the entire time," attorney Brian Butler said.

That means her days will be spent at work, her nights, behind bars. This is the most serious offense on Dennis's record.

Her attorney explains what may have prompted her bizarre actions.

"She had had a divorce that preceded this that was very, very difficult on her and I'd say that it contributed to some of her decision making," Butler said.

Dennis was also ordered to register as a sex offender.

(Louisville, Kentucky) A plea deal has been reached in the case of Mary Dennis who is accused of hosting sex parties and having oral sex with a 15-year-old boy.

Police said 38-year-old Mary Dennis held the party at her Floyds Knobs home, and that she had sex with at least three other teens during parties in September.

Dennis was also accused of serving alcohol to at least six teens, including her 13-year-old daughter.[…]

The deal calls for three years in jail, then four years probation.

Sentencing has been scheduled for July.

(Jeffersonville, Indiana) A 38-year-old local woman, Mary Marie Dennis, has been accused of engaging in sex with at least seven male minors at parties she hosted for Silver Creek High School students.

Dennis has been charged with sexual misconduct with a minor, fondling and having oral sex with a 15-year-old boy, felony neglect of a dependent and contributing to the delinquency of a minor for providing alcohol to juveniles.

An investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Department began in November after allegations emerged and detectives spoke to Dennis’ 13-year-old daughter, according to a probable-cause affidavit.

Dennis’ home address is listed as Floyds Knobs, but she was living in Clark County at the time of the allegations. The daughter reportedly told police she once walked by her mother’s bedroom and saw her having sex with one boy as two others were watching.

One of the teenage boys, described by some as Dennis’ boyfriend, said he had a sexual relationship with Dennis for two months before they got into a fight and broke up, according to court records. He told police that he considered himself a male figure for Dennis’ two children.

Court records indicate police interviewed at least four Silver Creek High School students, and three of them admitting having sexual intercourse with Dennis, while the other denied it. They were all able to name the other students who allegedly had relations with Dennis.

Dennis was booked into custody with bond set at $50,000. A jury trial is scheduled for September 7.
