Beheadings in Honduras

(Tegucigalpa, Honduras) It's not clear what is going on here.

Two teenagers were beheaded over the weekend in southern Honduras, police said.

Fidelio Enrique Betancourt, 18, and Luis Armando Blanco Guevara, 17, had been reported missing on Saturday.

The bodies of Betancourt and Blanco Guevara were found Sunday on the banks of a river near Tapaire, a village in Choluteca province. The victims’ relatives said they were peasants.

Police have not found the victims’ heads.

Naturally one might suspect some illegal drug involvement which would likely explain the murders. However, why the young men were beheaded and the heads taken is a mystery.
