Chinese/American Friendship



With a poster showing the U.S. Capitol being demolished and another showing the dollar being beaten on an anvil, just how do the Chinese define friendship? Is this art following life or life following art?

Actually, the image is a "surreal depiction of a Chinese/American Friendship Center in Red Dawn 2010." Red Dawn 2010 is a successor film, due later this year, to the 1984 Red Dawn starring Patrick Swayze. The 1984 film has the Russians invading the United States. Obviously, Red Dawn 2010 has the Chinese communists invading the U.S.

It's interesting that Hollywood seems to focus on making movies about the U.S. being invaded only when Hollywood veers from making movies about why the U.S. should be invaded. A sensitive observer might conclude that Hollywood is infested with people who hate America.
