Texas Babysitter Accused of Sex with Boy, 3

(Houston, Texas) A 20-year-old local babysitter, Amber Teshae Bowie, has been accused of engaging in sex with a three-year-old boy she was caring for. The sexual episode reportedly occurred in June 2009 at the boy's grandmother's house.

An investigator reported that the boy said Bowie took him into the bathroom, took off his clothes, then removed her own and performed a sex act with the boy.

Bowie faces a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

It's worth noting that the statements of a three-year-old, as the sole evidentiary source, are not necessarily convincing. Although a child of three likely doesn't intentionally lie, I suggest that a child of three may not easily distinguish between fantasy and reality.
