On Thursday, President Obama hosted a non-transparent meeting with selected White House reporters over lunch. The event has been classified as "off-the-record" and nobody is relaying what went on.
The attendees were a friendly mix of mainstream media elites.
Here's the lineup:Noticeably missing was a representative from the New York Times. An invitation was extended but the Times politely declined, preferring to be on-the-record.
Ben Feller (Associated Press),
Jonathan Weisman (Wall Street Journal),
Laura Meckler (Wall Street Journal),
Michael Shear (Washington Post),
Scott Wilson (Washington Post),
Caren Bohan (Reuters),
David Jackson (USA Today),
Carol Lee (Politico),
Peter Nicholas (Tribune Co.),
Margaret Talev (McClatchy) and
Julianna Goldman (Bloomberg).
Interesting, eh?
