(Caracas, Venezuela) Ominously promising more of the same, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez ordered the expropriation of U.S.-based glass maker Owens-Illinois Inc.
The leftist leader criticized the company's practices in the country, saying it had been "taking away the money of Venezuelans" and exploiting local people.I'd suggest Chavez's primary complaint is that the government wasn't running the company. It's a common complaint among police-state dictators.
Chavez did not detail his complaints about the company.
