California Daycare Molestation Case - Updated

(San Diego, California) For convictions of counts of child abuse at their home daycare, Mark Kaczmarczyk, 59, has been sentenced to eight years in prison and his 45-year-old wife, Anita Kaczmarczyk, received six years behind bars.
Deputy District Attorney Lucy Weismantel told Judge John Einhorn that Mark Kaczmarczyk was a "predator" who picked on children who were too young to talk or fight back.[…]

Gretchen von Helms, the attorney for Anita Kaczmarczyk, told the judge that her client had no idea her husband of 16 years was sexually abusing children.

But Weismantel said the wife turned a "blind eye" to what was going on in her home.

"She knew what was going on," the prosecutor said, "and she fostered this environment for her husband."

Einhorn told Anita Kaczmarczyk that she started the chain of events in motion by taking out a license to run a daycare center.
It's hard to imagine the level of depravity in the minds of individuals who would sexually abuse infants and toddlers.

California Daycare Molestation Case
[Previous 11/5/10 post]
(San Diego, California) In a case resulting from a 2007 investigation, a husband and wife couple is accused of child molestation and child abuse stemming from allegations involving multiple victims and significant sexual contact at a daycare center.

Anita Marie Kaczmarczyk, 45, and Mark Kaczmarczyk, 59, have been charged with lewd molestation of four children ranging in age from a few months to just over two years old.

Details are sketchy regarding Mark Kaczmarczyk. It appears he skipped to Taiwan in 2008 and was in the process of starting a children's charity when he was arrested and returned to San Diego.

Regarding Anita Kaczmarczyk, after her arrest and release on $150,000 bond she fled to Mexico to avoid trial. In Mexico, she was arrested for robbery.
