(Redwood City, California) In November 2010, 19-year-old Jeanette Aragona pleaded no contest in accordance with a plea deal to two counts of misdemeanor child endangerment.
Yesterday, Aragona, now 20, was sentenced to nine months in jail.
According to prosecutors, Aragona created three fictitious personas named “A.J.,” “B.J.” and “Matthew” which she used on Facebook to contact girls at Westborough Middle School in South San Francisco.Aragona also received five years of probation and was ordered to register as a sex offender. She reports to jail on February 26.
Aragona reportedly had sexually explicit chats with eight known victims using Facebook and eventually all the girls met her. At the meetings, Aragona said she was the Aunt Jeanette of A.J. and B.J., according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Aragona is not accused of touching or trying to touch any of the girls inappropriately.
