Indiana Woman Walks in Sex Case - Updated

(Ft. Wayne, Indiana) Having admitted guilt in accordance with a plea agreement last month, former teacher Kristi Metzger, 29, has been sentenced.

As part of that plea, Metzger receives a 10 year suspended sentence in addition to her four years of probation.

She will also have to register as a sex offender for 10 years but will not be subject to the 1,000 foot rule which prohibits offenders from living within 1,000 feet of parks, schools and youth programs.

Also as part of the plea deal, Metzger, who lived within a mile of the victim, will have to move. She will be able to see her own children but will not be able to be with children younger than 18 who are not her children.

After being sentenced, Metzger said she is innocent of the charges and only pleaded guilty to end her prosecution.

Indiana Woman Guilty of Sex with Boy - Updated

(Ft. Wayne, Indiana) In November 2011, a trial of Kristi N. Metzger, aka Kristi N. Mireles, on charges of sexual misconduct with a minor ended with a hung jury.

This week in accordance with a plea agreement, Metzger pleaded guilty to felony sexual misconduct with a minor.

As part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, she will serve no time in prison, but will rather be given a suspended sentence of 10 years with four years on probation.

But because of the nature of the charge, she will have to register as a sex offender for 10 years. She will be allowed to have contact with her own children, according to court documents.

Formal sentencing is scheduled for next month.

Indiana Woman Accused of Sex with Boy

(Allen County, Indiana) A 28-year-old Hoagland woman, Kristi N. Metzger, has been accused of engaging in repeated sex with a 15-year-old boy.

Metzger faces charges of sexual misconduct with a minor and a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The boy reported that the first encounter occurred April 8, 2010, after he had three or four beers. He said he got the beer from Metzger’s refrigerator and that she allowed him to do so, according to court records.

The boy said Metzger knew how old he was, the records said.

A warrant has been issued for Metzger's arrest.
