The Incestuous Family

(Victoria, Australia) Mom does son and stepdad does daughter in an ugly family incest case.

The woman's husband, who was the teenage children's stepfather, abused his 14-year-old stepdaughter on a weekly basis for two years in 1976 and 1977 while the mother was also in the bed. The mother did nothing to stop the abuse and was touched by her husband as the abuse took place, the County Court was told today.

In 1980, the woman, at the direction of her husband, had sex with her 16-year-old son more than once.

Sentencing the mother today, a judge said the abuse involved a high degree of sexual depravity. The judge said the children were entitled to feel safe, loved and protected in their own home.

"These two charges involved a breach of trust of the grossest kind,'' she said.

"You voluntarily engaged in sexual activity with two of your biological children ... it is extremely serious offending.

"To whom could they turn with both parental figures perpetrating the acts against them?''

The mother was sentenced to five years and three months in prison with eligibility for parole after two years and three months.

The stepfather pleaded guilty to 10 counts of incest. His sentencing is TBD.
