(Portage, Wisconsin) A 61-year-old substitute teacher with the Cambria-Friesland School District, Lynne A. Nelson, has been accused of grabbing a student by the neck and swearing at him during class.
Nelson faces a charge of felony physical abuse of a child intentionally causing bodily harm. Reportedly, the student "suffered" a red mark on his left shoulder and neck.
Investigators with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office said they responded to a report May 3 of a substitute teacher who had caused a red mark on the shoulder and neck of a 10-year-old student and who swore at the student.Nelson faces a pretrial conference on August 22 and a court appearance is scheduled for September 23.
