Illinois Teacher Gets Probation for Naughty with Student - Update

(Chicago, Illinois) This week, former East Aurora High School teacher Kelly K. Miller, 34, pleaded guilty to texting inappropriate photos of herself to a 15-year-old boy. Miller was convicted on one count of forwarding harmful material to a minor.

As a result, Miller was sentenced to probation.
Under the terms of her plea, Miller, who had been free on bond, must pay $2,400 in fines and costs and undergo a sex offender evaluation.

She is also barred from having unsupervised contact with anyone under 18 for the 18 months she is on probation, prosecutors said.
Miller was also ordered to undergo counseling.

Illinois Teacher Faces Exploitation Charge

(Chicago, Illinois) A 32-year-old teacher formerly at East Aurora High School, Kelly K. Miller, has been accused of sending inappropriate photos of herself to a 15-year-old boy.

Miller faces a charge of misdemeanor sexual exploitation of a child.
Police first learned of the photos when they got a a tip Sept. 19 and immediately began an investigation, police said.

Investigators filed the charge Tuesday and Miller turned herself in to police about 8 p.m., said police spokesman Dan Ferrelli in an email.
Miller was booked into custody and released on $1,000 bail. A court appearance is scheduled for November 18.
